Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yılmaz KILINÇ E-Mail: mustafayilmaz.kilinc@ostimteknik.edu.tr After completing his M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at Colorado State University in the United States in 1972, he began his academic career as a faculty member at Middle East Technical University (METU). From 1973 to 1993, he served as a faculty member in the Department of Civil Engineering at METU, specializing in Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Engineering. He also held positions as Dean and Department Chair at Dumlupınar University (DPÜ), Kafkas University (KKÜ), and Hasan Kalyoncu University until 2016. Between 1982 and 1984, he took a two-year leave from METU to work in Kaduna, Nigeria, as an expert in his field, conducting education, research, and consultancy under the United Nations, UNDP, and UNESCO. In 1985, he was appointed as the sole selector for the Council of Higher Education (YÖK)–World Bank Faculty Development Project. He has numerous national and international publications and is the originator of the “Kılınç Equation,” which is cited in U.S. scientific literature. He has delivered many seminars and conferences in the fields of Water Engineering and Environmental Engineering. Additionally, he successfully served as the Provincial Exam Coordinator for Ankara within the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) between 1979 and 1981. | |
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kemal YAMAN (Department Head) E-Mail: kemal.yaman@ostimteknik.edu.tr He completed his undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering at Gazi University in 1997, followed by his master’s degree in 2001 and his Ph.D. in 2007 at the same university’s Institute of Science. In 2021, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduating as the top student of his department in 1997, he began his academic career as a Research Assistant in the Department of Machine Theory and Dynamics. During this time, he was responsible for the practical components of several undergraduate courses, including System Dynamics, Control Engineering, Technical Drawing, Machine and Mold Design, Static, Strength of Materials, Manufacturing Process and CAD/CAM. In 2002, he joined TÜBİTAK SAGE as a Researcher. Over the course of his 18-year tenure, he held several key positions, including Head of the Mechanical Production and Design Unit, Coordinator of the Mechanical Systems Group (for seven years), and Systems Engineer. He contributed to more than thirty projects at various levels and served as the Project Manager of the RASAT satellite project, conducted in collaboration with TÜBİTAK UZAY. He actively shares his expertise in defense and aerospace technologies with younger generations through university-level teaching and consultancy services to the private sector. He has authored numerous national and international scientific publications and holds several registered patents. He is fluent in English, married, and the father of two children. His areas of expertise include Mechanical and Industrial Design, Mechanical Vibrations, Manufacturing Engineering, CAD/CAM Technologies, GD&T, Image Processing, Fracture Mechanics, the Finite Element Method, and Polymer Composite Materials.

Dr. İbrahim YAŞAR graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Middle East Technical University (METU) in 1992. He completed his master's degree in 1996 and his Ph.D. in 2002 in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Karadeniz Technical University (KTU). He also attended the National Security Academy and the TODAİE (Public Administration Institute for Turkey and the Middle East) Diplomacy Training Program. He completed his education at the School of Justice and received Arabic language training at the preparatory classes of the School of Foreign Languages at both Ankara University and Gazi University. In 1993, he was appointed as a Research Assistant in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Division of Materials Science at KTU. He served as a Ph.D. Research Assistant in the same department between 2002 and 2004. Between 2004 and 2007, he worked as a specialist at the National Boron Research Institute, and from 2007 to 2014, he served as the Research and Development Coordinator. From 2014 to 2023, he held various roles at the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, including Vice President, Board Member, Head of the Strategy Development Department, and Industrial Property Expert. Between 2011 and 2014, he taught “Engineering Materials” courses at KTO Karatay University in the Departments of Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering. From 2017 to 2023, he gave “Intellectual Property and Innovation” courses in various departments at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. On February 1, 2023, he began working as a faculty member (Dr. Lecturer) in the Department of Industrial Design at the Faculty of Architecture and Design, OSTİM Technical University.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Barış GÜR E-Mail: baris.gur@ostimteknik.edu.tr Barış Gür, an expert with academic and professional experience in the field of industrial design, completed his undergraduate studies at Haliç University between 2008 and 2012, his master’s degree at Gazi University between 2014 and 2017, and pursued his Ph.D. at the same university from 2017 to 2023. He has been serving as a lecturer at Gazi University since 2015 and at OSTİM Technical University since 2023. Between 2022 and 2023, he participated in international projects within the scope of Erasmus+ and conducted virtual studio courses. In addition to his academic work, he has been the co-founder and managing partner of Venn Industrial Design since 2014, where he oversees design, prototyping, and production processes. | |
Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saygın ÖĞÜLMÜŞ E-Mail: ahmet.saygin@ostimteknik.edu.tr Dr. Ahmet Saygın Öğülmüş was born in 1985 in Kırıkkale, Turkey. He completed his primary and secondary education at Kırıkkale Anatolian High School and graduated from Kırıkkale Science High School. In 2009, he earned his B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering at Gazi University. He began his professional career in 2010 as an R&D personnel in the energy sector in OSTİM, Ankara. He later worked in the vehicle-mounted equipment industry. Between 2012 and 2015, he successfully completed 21 R&D and innovation projects under the Technology Venture Capital Support (TGSD) programs initiated by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, with full responsibility for process management. He received his M.Sc. degree in 2017 and completed his Ph.D. in 2022 at Necmettin Erbakan University. In 2018, he worked as a mechanical system design engineer at Akınsoft Akın Robotics, Turkey’s first humanoid robot factory. Throughout his academic career, he lectured at Konya Karatay University and Ankara Science University. Since 2023, he has been continuing his academic work as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Design at the Faculty of Architecture and Design, OSTİM Technical University. Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Atilla AYKANAT E-Mail: atilla.aykanat@ostimteknik.edu.tr Dr. Atilla Aykanat graduated as an architect from A.D.M.M.A. in 1970. Between 1971 and 1972, he completed German language studies at the Goethe Institute in Germany. From 1972 to 1974, he repeated his architectural education at the Faculty of Architecture at Karlsruhe Technical University (TH) in Germany, earning the "Diplom-Ing. Architekt" degree. Between 1974 and 1976, he pursued specialization courses in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Engineering at the same university’s Faculty of Civil Engineering. He worked in various architecture firms in Germany. | |
Öğr. Gör. Rahşan AKIN E-Mail: rahsan.akin@ostimteknik.edu.tr Akın completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Industrial Design at Anadolu University, School of Industrial Arts in 2005. He earned his Master's degree in 2009 from Anadolu University, Institute of Social Sciences, in the Department of Advertising and Public Relations. During his graduate studies, he participated in the Erasmus student exchange program and studied for one semester at Inholland University in the Netherlands. He completed his thesis in 2009, titled "The Values Design Adds to Institutions: A Case Study on T-Box, Nurus, and Tariş." Throughout his career, he has worked as an industrial designer in various sectors and companies, primarily focusing on electronic device design. During his academic and professional life, he received numerous national and international design awards, utility model registrations, and design patents. In 2023, Akın began working as a part-time lecturer at OSTİM Technical University and continues to work as a freelance designer. | |

Karalar completed her undergraduate education (2021) at Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Industrial Design. During her undergraduate education, she worked as a project student and intern in companies such as BSH Home appliances, Garanti BBVA, QNB Finansbank. Immediately after her graduation, she worked as a designer in the industrial furniture sector for 1.5 years. Then, she left the institution she worked for (in 2023), and started her graduate education at Gazi University, Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Department of Industrial Design. In the same period, she started working as a research assistant at OSTİM Technical University, Faculty of Architecture and Design, Department of Industrial Design, and she still continue to work there. Şevval YAKAR E-Mail: sevval.yakar@ostimteknik.edu.tr She graduated with a bachelor's degree from the Department of Industrial Design at the Faculty of Architecture, Gazi University in 2021. Following her graduation, she worked for one year as a designer in the lighting industry. In 2022, she began her master's studies in the Department of Industrial Design at the Institute of Science and Technology, Gazi University, and successfully completed the program in 2025. Her thesis focused on the effects of artificial intelligence in the field of industrial design. Her main areas of interest include product design, user interface design, and the interaction between technology and design. As of 2025, she has started her doctoral studies in the Department of Industrial Design at the Institute of Science and Technology, Gazi University.

Prof. Dr. Abdullah TOĞAY He completed his undergraduate education in the field of Industrial Technology Education in 1995. In the following years, he continued his graduate education at Gazi University in the same field. He did his Master's thesis on Computer Usage in Static Analysis of Plane Frame System Furniture Elements. He started to work in the academy in 1996 as a Research Assistant at the Department of Industrial Technology Education at Gazi University. He completed his master's degree in 1998. Then he started his Ph.D. education in the same field. He discussed the Situation, Problems and Solution Proposals of the Wooden Construction Industry in Turkey in his Ph.D. In 2003, he started to work as a lecturer in the Industrial Technology Education Department. Then he started to work as a lecturer in the Department of Industrial Design at Gazi University in 2013. He received his associate professorship in 2017. Between 2014-2020, he was the director of Application Centers, Earthquake Engineering Application, and Research Center. In 2017, he received his professorship in the Department of Industrial Design. Since 2019, he has been working as a vice-dean at Gazi University, Faculty of Architecture. His fields of study are Industrial Arts, Design Studies, Wood Mechanics and Technology, Augmented Reality, Information Visualization, and Virtual Reality. Prof. Dr. Alper ÇALGÜNER Prof. Dr. Alper Çalgüner began his academic career at Gazi University in 2007, where he served as a Lecturer from 2007 to 2010, as a Lecturer with a Ph.D. from 2010 to 2012, as an Assistant Professor from 2012 to 2015, as an Associate Professor from 2015 to 2022, and has been serving as a Full Professor since 2022. He has supervised 17 master’s theses and 5 doctoral dissertations to date. | |
Gonca ÇAMKERTEN, Instructor E-Mail: goncacamkerten@gmail.com Gonca Çamkerten graduated from Industrial Product Design at Anadolu University. She began her career as an Industrial Designer at Venetti Furniture in 2014. From 2015 to 2017, she worked as a freelance UI/UX designer across various industries. In 2017, she became one of the co-founders of Lmwatt A.Ş., where she worked in Product Management, developing projects to enhance efficiency in Vertical Farming systems through lighting, products, and systems. From 2019 to 2020, she served as an Educational Designer at Hayalini Tasarlayanlar, focusing on equipping disadvantaged students with design thinking skills. Since 2020, she has been the Product Manager for the hibuddy app, and also a co-founder, managing the design and development processes. She has volunteered to facilitate global events such as OpenIDEO and PechaKucha locally. She is a founding member of the UX’minimal community and is recognized for her expertise in design thinking, problem-solving skills, and teamwork. |
