Akın completed his undergraduate studies at Anadolu University, School of Industrial Arts, Department of Industrial Design (2005) and his graduate studies at Anadolu University, Institute of Social Sciences, Advertising and Public Relations (2009) in the USA. During his graduate studies, he studied for a semester at Inholland University in the Netherlands through the Erasmus student exchange program. He completed his thesis, "The Values ​Design Contributes to an Institution: An Application on T-Box, Nurus, and Tariş," in 2009. Throughout his career, he has worked as an industrial designer in many different sectors and companies, primarily in electronic device design. Throughout his student and professional career, he has received numerous design awards, utility models, and design registrations both domestically and internationally. Akın began working as a part-time lecturer at OSTİM Technical University in 2023 and continues to work as a freelance designer.​
